How to transform your standard NSR
into a roaring HRC-like racing machine
In 2006 I wanted to buy a 125 ccm bike and after reading some forums I decided for the Honda NSR.
The main reasons:
- It's a Honda, solid engineering that lasts forever.
- It is not an Ap***ia or a Ca**va, therefore it runs.
- It has a great look.
- It is a pleasure to ride.
The NSR-125 comes in four flavors:
- NS-125R TC01 with the kickstarter and 16" wheels.
- NSR-125F is the “naked bike” version with very few plastic around.
- NSR-125R JC20 is the older version with 17” front and an 18” rear wheel, tank covered.
- NSR-125R JC22 is the newer version with 17” front and rear wheels and metal tank.
And of course the RS-125 which is the HRC racing machine based on the NSR.
In most countries the NSR are power-reduced to about 10 to 15 PS by various mechanical and/or electronic restrictions.
There are reductions soldered inside the exhaust, blends between carburettor and cylinder, modified CDI, blocked exhaust valve, ...
Honda specify the full-open release at 28 PS but there is still room for improvement :-)
